1. The principle
Create.Blitch is a tool. What you type into it and upload to it is yours, and we do not review or approve your designs — nothing you make is inspected, and the files you upload never reach us in the first place.
That freedom comes with the corresponding responsibility: you are responsible for having the right to use whatever you bring, and for what you do with the result. This page sets out where the line is.
2. Intellectual property you do not own
The most common way to get into trouble with a tool like this is not malice — it is modelling a well-known logo or character because it is easy, and selling it.
- Trademarks and brand names — a sports team, a company, a product name — belong to their owners. Being able to type a name into a keyring generator does not grant you a licence to sell it.
- Copyrighted characters and artwork are the same. Tracing an uploaded image does not launder its copyright.
- Names of real people. Personalised items for a named customer are the normal use of this tool and entirely fine. Using someone's name or likeness to imply their endorsement is not.
3. Fonts you upload
An uploaded font is governed entirely by the licence you obtained it under. Many fonts — including ones bundled free with an operating system, a design tool or a marketplace download — prohibit commercial use, resale, or embedding into a product. Some prohibit modification, which extruding arguably is.
Check before you sell. If you are not sure, use the bundled library instead: every font in it is open-licence, its licence text ships with it, and under a Commercial subscription it is cleared for the resale we describe.
4. Things you may not make
- Functional weapons or their components, including firearm parts, magazines, suppressors, or anything designed to defeat a safety mechanism.
- Items designed to facilitate crime — key duplicates, lock bypass tools, card skimmers, devices to defeat access control.
- Counterfeits — items intended to pass as another brand's genuine product, including replica packaging, labels and authentication marks.
- Content promoting hatred or violence against people on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation, and the insignia of organisations whose purpose is such hatred.
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form, ever.
- Content whose purpose is to harass, threaten or dox a specific person.
- Items impersonating a real authority — police, government or medical identification and badges.
Safety-critical parts — anything load-bearing, medical, electrical, or protective — are used at your own risk. The geometry is generated by software with documented limitations and has not been engineered or certified for such use.
5. Things you may not do to the service
- Circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, the plan limits or the export gate.
- Share an account, or resell access to it. A subscription is for one person or one business, not a group.
- Use the export service through automated scripts or in bulk beyond ordinary use of the app.
- Probe, scan or attack the infrastructure, or try to reach other users' data.
- Scrape the site or the generator catalogue to build a competing service.
- Remove, obscure or alter attribution or licence files where a bundled asset requires them.
If you are a security researcher and you find something, please tell us at [email protected] before disclosing it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and does not access or damage other users' data.
6. What happens if this is breached
We would rather ask than ban. For anything short of serious abuse we will contact you first and explain what needs to change.
For clear or repeated breaches we may suspend or terminate the account. Where we do, we will tell you why, and — except in cases of serious abuse — refund the unused portion of a paid period. See the terms of service.
Because we cannot see your designs, enforcement is in practice reactive: it follows a report or a rights holder's complaint, not an inspection.
7. Reporting something
If you believe someone is selling items that infringe your intellectual property using Create.Blitch, or you want to report a breach of this policy, email [email protected] with enough detail to identify the issue. We will respond and act where we can — noting that we host no marketplace and no gallery, so the items themselves are sold elsewhere and that marketplace is usually the faster route.
